CIGO Award for Excellence in Genealogy
In 2007 CIGO inaugurated an annual Award to recognise achievements in, and relating to, Irish genealogy. The Council has decided that the annual recipient should have excelled in at least two of the following categories:
i) encouragement of the study of genealogy;
ii) preservation of archives;
iii) provision of physical facilities;
iv) innovation in access to genealogical records and data.
