Civil Registration Bill – CIGO Press Release

CIGO has published a Press Release (which can be seen here) relating to the Civil Registration Bill 2003 (CRA) and its failings relating to the data captured in death registrations. The Bill represents the first time that there has been any major overhaul of legislation relating to Ireland’s civil registration service since registration first began in April 1845 and CIGO believes that the Bill does not adequately allow for the improvement of registration of deaths in Ireland.
